Inpatient Psychiatric Program

The purpose of inpatient hospitalization is to assist patients in a time of crisis. Per the mental health code, a person has presented to be a danger to oneself, others, and/or out of touch with reality where he/she is unable to complete the demands of daily living. When an individual is admitted to Samaritan Behavioral Center, they are assigned to a multidisciplinary treatment team to work with during the duration of their stay. This treatment team is focused on providing person-centered care.

The Samaritan Behavioral Center offer a comprehensive inpatient treatment modality for individuals suffering from Psychiatric, disorders. Due to metabolic changes, synergistic reactions due to multiple medications, and multiple underlying medical diagnoses that occur with those adults or individuals of advancing age in crises, treatment at has been designed to provide an integration of psychiatric and behavioral services with those also requiring some medical care. Our core program components focus on detection of co-morbid medical conditions that may be contributing to psychiatric conditions and providing the necessary interventions to medically stabilize the individual.

The average length of stay: 7-14 days. Length of hospitalization is entirely dependent on the patient’s progress and the professional opinion of their treatment team. Weekly team meetings are completed with the patient to discuss progress throughout their stay. While hospitalized, individuals will be assigned a multi-disciplinary treatment team to assist in meeting their own specific needs.
